Overview
Best practices for a bottling line indicate that you should test your corked bottles for vacuum or pressure at regular intervals during bottling. This ensures that your corker is functioning properly from beginning to end. It also minimizes the risk of bottles leaking due to excess pressure in the bottle. Our bottle vacuum test kit allows you to quickly measure pressure or vacuum inside your bottle after it's been corked. Simply insert the needle into the cork, and press it fully through, until the tip reaches the headspace in the bottle. This ensures your corker is providing an adequate seal, and pulling the desired amount of vacuum.
For more information on best practices with regard to bottling, we highly recommend reading the Cork Quality Council's Bottling Handbook.
The kit comes with two needles.
NB: Not for testing champagne bottles.
