The hand pump for your variable capacity tank holds the pressure in the lid seal, ensuring that the lid remains floating. The integrated pressure gauge shows the ideal pressure range, so as long as you're in the green, you're good to go.

The attached hose barb has a 10mm OD. If you want to purchase some replacement tubing to go between the pump and your inflatable lid, use 3/8" ID tubing. This braided tubing works fine.
