Overview
With a focus on safety, speed, and simplicity, OMS's 9-9-1 bottling monoblock is designed to set craft distilleries up for success as they grow into high-volume production. With speeds up to 40 bottles per minute, and the option to have your machine certified for Class 1, Div 1 & 2 operation, this is the bottling line you need to take your brand to the next level.
It's called the 9-9-1
because it has:
- Nine rotary rinsing heads
- Nine rotary filling nozzles
- One cap applicator: T-top cork, ROPP cap, Plastic screw cap… whatever you need
Let's take a look at a few of the other features that make it ideal for distilleries.
Easy CIP For Easy Product Changeovers
If you're bottling a wide range of spirits you're probably concerned that taste or odors could migrate between your products. If you're bottling products with strong oak, herbal, or botanical contents, you don't want to cross-contaminate. OMS designed the 9-9-1 to be easy to clean above all else. Each machine includes accessories to allow you to run a complete and thorough cleaning cycle between product changeovers.
Simply attach a CIP machine — use your own if you have one, or we can supply one from OMS. Place OMS's dummy bottles on the filling nozzles to keep them open, and start the CIP cycle. The machine will be ready to use with your next product when the cycle is complete.
Bottle Rinsing Designed for Distilleries
Most rinsing systems for bottling lines rinse with water. We know that rinsing your bottles with water could lower your bottle proof. With the 9-9-1, the automatic nine-head bottle rinser uses your own spirits for closed-loop rinsing. It's just like the MiniMax we sell, only much, much faster. Spirits are recaptured after rinsing, filtered, and re-used to keep bottles clean with minimal waste.
Independently Certified for Hazardous Locations
All HazLoc-rated OMS machines are individually certified by an independent third party safety auditor. The auditor inspects the machine to ensure that the correct materials have been used, and verifies that the build meets the requisite safety requirements. Your OMS line will come with a badge showing its Class I, Div 1 & 2 certification. The certification will remain on file with the safety auditors if you ever choose to sell the machine in the future.
Precision Filling Without Waste
OMS's Distillery Monoblocks use a unique overflow
gravity filling nozzle system. As bottles make their way around the rotary carousel, the nozzle opens and seals against the lip of the bottle. Air inside the bottle escapes through a return hole in the nozzle. When liquid covers the return hole, a small amount of liquid returns to an overflow chamber, ensuring the level is perfect in each bottle regardless of how long they spend on the nozzle.
But what about the liquid that returns to the overflow chamber? Is it wasted? No! When the overflow chamber fills up, the bottling line switches over to using product from the overflow chamber as its source until it is depleted. Once the overflow chamber empties, it reverts back to product from your main bottling tank.
HazLoc or Not: It's Your Choice
If you don't necessarily need your bottling line to be HazLoc compliant, no problem. Maybe you're bottling a relatively low-proof spirit. If the HazLoc features add extra expense that you don't need, the 9-9-1 line can be supplied in a low-proof format with most of the same features (and a lower price tag).
Good Spirits, In Good Company
By choosing an OMS line, you're minimizing your risk in more ways than one. Many well-known distilleries have already selected OMS for their bottling needs. If you've enjoyed whiskeys from Willett Distillery, Bardstown Bourbon, Ole Smokey, or Tennessee Legend, among others, you've probably had spirits bottled on an OMS machine. You're not taking a risk on an unknown machine. These are machines made for distilleries.
