“Paintless” Option

We've just introduced the paintless option for these pumps, and customers have been raving about it. Aside from being quite striking in appearance, it makes washdown a breeze. Everything on the cart is metallic. No chipped, scratched, rusted, or dented paint on your pump ever again. Everything is beautiful, washdown-ready metal.

Here's how it works: all Ampco ZP pump heads are already built with an all-stainless body and gearcase. Likewise, we already build our cart-mounted Ampco pump assemblies with a washdown-duty stainless steel motor. That means the only remaining part that is painted is the gear reducer in the center of the pump.

Not sure what a gear reducer is? Well, if you're looking at a picture of the pump, the gear reducer is in the center of the cart. It's just in front of the motor, and behind the pump head. Its job is to take an 1800 RPM motor and use gears to reduce the speed of rotation to a maximum of about 600 RPM. That's where the Ampco pump heads work best. Normally, the gear reducer is painted stainless steel gray so it matches everything on the cart…but it's still painted.

When you go with the paintless version, we replace the painted gear reducer with an aluminum version that features a proprietary surface coating that is chemically bonded to the surface of the gear reducer. It's beautiful, FDA-compliant, and is 1000x stronger than paint. So, again, no more rust, chipped or faded paint. Just a beautiful pump that's perfect for beverage facilities who wish to maintain immaculate presentation in all aspects.
