Overview

This option installs a plexiglass screen around the press basket. Mounting points are welded to the basket, and the acrylic screen is affixed securely to the mounting points. In other words, the screen stays firmly fixed to the basket even as you are loading and unloading grapes or moving the basket around.

If you are mostly pressing fermented red grapes, the splash guard is nice to have, but not absolutely necessary. If you are pressing fresh grapes you will definitely want a splash guard. Fresh grapes are much more prone to squirting juice through the slats.
