Speed & Directional Controls

You can control your pump's speed and direction from the VFD (Variable Frequency Drive), a.k.a. the box on the cart that you plug into your wall. But using the drive controls at the pump may not be ideal; particularly if you're standing on a ladder looking into your tank, or trying to quickly jog the pump while shining a flashlight down into a barrel. Alternate controls make these tasks much easier. We make controls in a few different configurations. Click on the button next to each option for more info.

Overview

Leading the middle of the pack (size-wise) is the QP1-40, a 2" pump with plenty of oomph to keep things flowing. It maxes out at about 46 GPM, making it a great “all-rounder” for small-to-mid-sized facilities who want all the benefits of RPD pumps. Namely: they run dry, they self-prime, they are reversible, and their speed can be easily controlled.

A premium efficiency 3 HP motor powers the QP1-40, delivering up to about 46 gallons per minute at up to 60 psi.

As with all QP1 pumps, the QP1-40 is totally dimensionally and parts-interchangeable with the corresponding Waukesha U1 pump heads found in many wineries and breweries. So if you already have a Waukesha 40 pump on-hand, your seal and rebuild kits will work. It does add a few upgrades under the hood in contrast to Waukesha. Most striking is the all-stainless gearbox, a welcome improvement to Waukesha's painted gearbox. The shafts that turn the rotors are made from heavier-duty 17-4PH stainless steel, meaning they're capable of greater longevity at high pressure than Waukesha pumps.

Remote Options:

None: The pump's speed and forward/reverse direction can be controlled from the pump's drive only.

Wired, Speed Only: We install a remote control pendant on a 35-foot cord that allows for 0-100% speed control. Forward/Reverse direction can be controlled from the pump's drive only.

Wired, Full Control: We install a remote control pendant on a 10-meter cord that allows for full control of the pump: Reverse/Off/Forward & 0-100% Speed

Wireless, Full Control: We install a remote control receiver and provide a wireless key fob-style remote with a range up to 300 feet. The remote can be recharged via micro USB. The remote allows you to control the pump's direction and speed. We also install a bypass switch that allows you to control the pump locally.
